One thing wrong like this changed my view s on this place instantly

This is our current situation at our apartment complex. I don't complain but things aren't getting done I would like others to know. Very unhappy with what happened in our apartment which is located at colony at kennilworth in Towson md .On a Friday around 3:30 I called to notify maintenance that our bathroom/living room/ and garage ceilings were leaking through my house. Someone did come over right away cut a hole in our wall and told us there was a hole in our roof and nothing they could do until the roof company came. They sent a manager who also came out took one look and said "yup it's the roof" nothing we can do until Monday or Tuesday. Meanwhile our living room ceiling was dripping disgusting yellow water and pieces of the ceiling were falling through. They did not give us towels/buckets etc. so we had to supply our own. Tuesday came around and we heard nothing and was told by someone in the main office that they would reach out to maintenance. Thursday came around and nothing was done. At this point our bucket filled with yellow musty water in one day more of the ceiling had fallen off, our bedroom floor by the wall was soaked and our garage was full of mold and ceiling pieces falling as well and a soaked garage floor. When I called they did come instantly and found a hole in our pipe in the bathroom which was causing the leaks (which I suggested that Friday before when I had first called them about this. Our water had to be shut off and a plumber come out. From Friday to Thursday was a total of 7 days that we could not use our garage (which we pay extra for) and our living room was all pushed to one side because of the leak and our bedroom was pushed to one side because of the wet floor. Everything was finally done leaking on Thursday evening and was told someone would be out Friday to patch up all of the holes in our walls (bedroom garage and living room) nobody showed up Friday the manager of maintenance did call and ask if they showed up and said they could come Saturday (we had things going on so had to be done Monday morning first thing) now our carpet from where the water came down on smells old and musty and should of been offered to clean. We have a dog which we pay extra for that we had to keep away from all of this (which anyone with a dog knows that's hard) which should of been completed that Friday before when they first came instead of being in such a rush because it was Friday.

My Apartment

This place is very beautiful and peaceful! The best part about the grounds is the hills and trees. the staff is very respectful and understanding. It's the best kept secret of downtown Towson. Surrounded by the richness and bustling of great shops and restaurants. It great to be a resident of Colony of Kenilworth!!

Great place to live!

We lived here a long time ago, but life had us move away. We have recently returned and found that we still love living at The Colony at Kenilworth. Location is great for all things my family does. Wouldn't dream of living anywhere else.

Worst response time (if any response at all)

My boyfriend and I moved in here from out of state for a short term lease until we can move in to the house we purchased. We were initially very excited for it, because it seemed as though when we were coordinating our move from a thousand miles away, the staff were super friendly and super helpful. Once we actually moved in, that completely changed. Our issues were as follows: 1. Gym fobs did not work. We emailed the office manager several times about this. I called twice. No response. Ever. Still have non working gym fobs. Not like I use it, but the option is nice. 2. Dishwasher was broken. It was run once successfully. Then water and soap bubbles spilled out all over our floor two times after. We submitted that request several times. We called. We did it online. We emailed about it. It took two weeks. And then the guy wrote us a note that said, just let it run the cycle. Kind of rude, but thanks for unclogging our dishwasher drain. It now works. 3. Portal access - the portal, the magical place where you pay your rent and your random NWP bill from The Colony ... doesn't work for either me nor my boyfriend. How do I pay? Not online. I have to do it the old fashioned way with a check that I drop off. I notified them at least 8 times with zero response. I called. The second office manager responded with, oh I'll let Melissa know so she can help resolve. Unfortunately, Melissa didn't resolve, actually she didn't even respond. 4. My electric bill here is $40 more than my old apartment at its highest, which was twice the square footage with cathedral ceilings. 5. The air conditioner doesn't work once it hits 90 degrees outside. For others out there like us, I highly recommend completely avoiding this place. It is very obvious this is college housing with VERY little care for the units and very little care for the tenants. Reminds me of the college housing I was assigned to as a freshman - the old crappy places that only overflow students are assigned to because it's probably illegal to still allow people to live in these places.

God Awful Place to live

Do not live here UNLESS you want to be treated like garbage, awakened every night by out of control parties, watch SWAT tactical raids on drug and weapons dealers, automatically forfeit your security deposit, be charged hundreds of dollars for damages that you are not legally liable for, and deal with poorly maintained apartment units where appliances constantly break with the added BONUS of possibly slicing your credit score in half. I lived in the Colonies for 9 months, and can honestly say it was one of the worst places I lived. I for the most part didn't mind the parties and noise, being a college student. From dealing with constant maintenance needs that were never dealt with on time and incorrect billing practices, that was just the tip of the iceberg. When our lease finally came to an end, we moved out of the unit cleaning the apartment thoroughly, even steam cleaning the carpet. I left my forwarding address with the leasing office in order to get my $300 deposit mailed to me. A month passed and I called to inquire about the status of my deposit. An associate informed that I had a balance due for damages totaling to $693.09. This is the amount after the $300 deposit was deducted. The carpet had to be replaced according to the property manager. After trying to show us pictures of a DIFFERENT unit's dirty carpet (seriously!?!?) she finally found the images for our carpet. The staining on the carpet is not excessive enough to have warranted a replacement of the entire carpet. E After sending a lengthy emailing disputing my charges and politely asking for the refund of the deposit, I heard very little response from the Property. At this point I had still not even received a physical copy of the charges that we were being held liable for. After hearing no response for about a month and a half, on August 30th, I received a call from a debt collector who told me that they will be collecting the debt immediately. I contacted the leasing office again. I asked to speak with the property manager, and was told that she will return my call later that day. She refuses to return my call to discuss this matter. At this point I am still dealing with a collection agency harassing me on a daily basis and having to work with the State Attorney's office of Consumer Affairs to try to get this resolved. It's been almost 5 months since I've moved out and I have yet to hear any kind of response from the Colonies or Morgan Properties regarding this matter.
